Kpop Ment.. LOL
Written @ 1:05 PM
Time flies. Seriously. It’s the end of January already. Nothing explosively interesting in my life. Got to watch a few movies, and especially liked Sherlock Holmes, which I watched with Tracy. She liked it too, although I guess we had different reasons for liking it. The scripting and storyline was great, although the movie version of Holmes and Watson were hyperactive versions of their book selves. But it is an action movie, and the producers/directors/writers can claim creative license for whatever they want to do to their movie. Whatever makes them happy… I’m all for world peace. Not like I can influence the content of the movie anyway.

My Kpop ment:

Also finally got round to watching 2PM’s Wild Bunny, which was super hilarious. Pity Jay’s gone now. I’m not particularly fussed, but the issue that led to him leaving the group and South Korea was blown ridiculously out of proportion. Everyone has adjustment problems, and he just so happened to be working as a public figure. Jay’s cute cuz he often misunderstands and pronounces stuff wrongly, which leads to everyone laughing at him, among other antics he gets up to. I’ve watched 2PM on other shows and decided Taecyeon’s my favourite member (heehee…), and Nichkhun is cute too. At least they’re tall, or “abnormally tall” as Jay said in Star Golden Bell.

Super Junior is down to 10 members, at last count. Hankyung is off the list with the contract lawsuit, Kangin is in cold storage to reflect on his idiotic behavior (DUI and hit and run, I think), and Kibum is doing his own thing, which is not surprising since he’s been like that since around the release of the second album. Again, it’s no biggie for me, cuz I’ll still buy their album if I like it and there’s still Heechul and Sungmin around. The good thing about a large group is, even if you lose 3 members, you still have 10, which is still more members than the average boyband out there. Although if 2AM and 2PM combine as One Day now, they’ll be evenly matched. In numbers, at least. Can’t say much for talent. Hahaha… But they are good at whatever they do.

Heechul’s in Trax’s new MV! Crying throughout the whole thing with f(x)’s Victoria. Overall I like the song and the MV just makes it better. Nice to see Heechul have some interaction with his younger colleagues that he doesn’t try to parody or joke about. Victoria is great too. I watched some of her videos and I wished I had just half of her flexibility.

SNSD’s new album is out today!!! ‘Oh!’ is an okay song, but the MV is nice and colourful with a great marketing concept at the end as a teaser for next song they will promote after ‘Oh!’. I think the live performance will be better than watching the MV. Don’t see why they have to include ‘Gee’ and ‘Genie’ for the last two tracks. They aren’t even remixes. What am I going to do with 2 identical tracks in my itunes? Though I must say that SNSD is my favourite Korean girl group. At least they have good singers, dancers (though the talent is not evenly spread out) and hosts. SMent really knows how to market its artistes.

I’m bored. So I’m going to make a list of my favourite members from the music groups that I like:
2AM: SeulOng
2PM: Taecyeon
DBSK: Micky Yoochun
Shinee: Jonghyun
SS501: Hyunjoong
Super Junior: Heechul and Hankyung

2NE1: Sandara
Brown Eyed Girls: GaIn
F(x): Victoria
Jewelry: Seo InYoung
Kara: Hara
SNSD: Hyoyeon
Wonder Girls: Yoobin

2010
Written @ 8:47 PM
I can't believe its 2010 already. 2009 was mostly boring, nothing overly exciting, with the only hump being graduation... I'm hoping for something to happen this year, preferably before my 21st birthday...

Before I go on... watch this:

This is really funny... I admit I don't know a couple of answers, like who is in the coalition of the willing and the axis of evil but the rest are just stuff we see in the news every freaking day! And the map is phony! Which makes those people look even more stupid!

I was on a double-decker bus on my way home, sitting on the upper deck right behind the stairs. There was this lady coming up halfway and for some reason, she lost her grip and fell back down. I don't know what she looks like cuz I only saw her back, but from her hairstyle and voice, she's probably in her 40s or 50s. Since there wasn't much commotion, I didn't bother to poke my nose into the situation. The strange thing was that, the bus was stable (although it was moving) for her to have gotten up those stairs, since the driver was taking it slow and wasn't breaking and jerking (unlike some others that find the need to break so hard every five metres, it makes me nauseous).

I've been watching House (starting from season 1 and into season 5 now) for the past month. It's hilarious and I love House's witty sarcasm and am so grateful for the writers of the show for being so wonderfully creative. I think the Chase and Cameron pairing is hot, too. Chase is growing on me (=.=), too bad the actors' real life engagement didn't work out, or it would have been so cute! But I noticed something watching an episode a few minutes ago....

Why is it that when someone faints/vomits blood/gets into an accident, that the first reaction that bystanders have is: "Call 911!" (or whatever the emergency number in your country is)? Which is totally fine if you don't have a handphone or some kind of communication device. Hasn't it occured to you that YOU should pick up your own phone and dial the number? Most people these days have mobile phones right in their hands or pockets, so why not call emergency hotline yourself? Someone always asks somebody else to call, which other bystanders repeat till some calm dude has the presence of mind (and actually cares, and not being a busybody who just wants to join the commotion) to whip out the phone and call 911.

And I'm not making this observation without any basis for comparison. Would I have the presence of mind if I was in that kind of situation? I'd say yes, cuz I've done it before. When my cousin (almost) cracked his head open in a public place. It was way bloody... and I was freaked out. The memory is still so clear, I had bloodstains on my shirt and vomit on my feet (eww!). But I managed to call the ambulance and get his parents down before my legs gave way (metaphorically). When you have to be the one in charge, there isn't time to scream and cry. So next time there is an emergency, see if this situation happens. It would be interesting to observe how people behave in pressing situations.

Oh and here is a clip of my sister singing dring a Christmas gathering:
