Singing and Despicable Me
Written @ 12:29 AM
Had a fun-filled day yesterday. Went with Tracy and her friend to KBox at Downtown East Ehub to sing, sing, sing! Have to brush up on my hangul reading since most of the kpop songs sadly don’t have romanisation, and I can’t read fast enough to sing along, and I don’t bother with memorizing lyrics. The organization of the songs in the karaoke system was horrible, singers had songs under their name in hangul, then some under their names in chinese characters. They should really hire someone to clean it up for them (aka hire me!).

Singing has deteriorated since my secondary school days, where I would have choir practice twice a week and abstain from all spicy things. Now, I eat curry and chilli and all the rubbish things that harm the voice, not to mention no more vocal exercises except for singing in the shower. Oh well. I shall take advantage of the fact that KBox has the $8 promotion and go as often as possible. Anyone else interested? I’m going to make a list of songs I’m going to sing next time I go.

Anyway, after about 4 hours of singing, Audrey came to meet me and we went to watch Despicable Me!

Which turned out to be the nicest animation I’ve watched so far. While the plot was predictable in general, they used unique characters like Gru, the minions and Dr. Nefarious and humourous scripting which made it interesting for the movie. The protagonist was a person who believed that he was evil, and so schemed to do evil deeds, although those attempts weren’t very successful. In the end, he finds that there is love in him for the three orphans that he adopts as part of his plan to steal the moon (LOL) and eventually settles for being a good father. I will not go on a full-on film analysis, since I just watched it for entertainment’s sake and I wasn’t looking out for anything in particular. But I would rate it FIVE STARS for an animation! It’s a movie that would keep a smile on your face all the way through. Oh, I did a check on the voice actors for the movie, and Julie Andrews is in it! Awesomeness!

I want to watch Eclipse next!
